The sessions are appropriate after the first scan around 12 weeks gestation, and following birth around 6 weeks after normal birth. 8 weeks following caesarean.

Babies can attend in buggies or in baby slings (can be provided). Lots of support is given if babies are unsettled or need changing so don’t worry about that.

Suitable loose clothing and protective trainer-type footwear is recommended. Babies should wear layered clothing taking into consideration the weather.

The session will include a short warm up followed by a light aerobic section walking, some muscular strengthening in a group formation so there’s more time for chatting, finishing with a cool down, stretching and relaxation. There’s plenty of time built into the session to chat, ask questions and share information.

Exercises and advice built around topics relevant to mums to be and new mums, such as lifting, pushing prams, back care, posture, relaxation techniques. It is designed to be friendly and good fun. Sessions delivered by 2 Midwives with all the appropriate training.
