Bookings now being taken for film screening and artist’s talk by Rachel Dean on 12th March 7-9pm.
Rachel is a dance artist living in Chapeltown, Leeds and mother to a 20 month old daughter. Throughout her pregnancy she continued her dance practice, adapting it as her body changed. Since her daughter’s birth a long-term project has begun investigating how Rachel’s dance practice can continue with her daughter and be led by their interactions.
The evening will consist of the screening of two short films followed by a talk and discussion with Rachel.
‘Nativity’ is a full body collision with the enduring power of the myth and magic of the Virgin Mary. It was filmed at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance by Lucy Barker.
‘Whilst I Am Waiting’ is an improvised piece made a couple of weeks before Rachel gave birth.
Refreshments will be provided. To reserve a place please email firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘Dance Film Screening’ in the subject line. xx
