Fertility Doll Carving with Kerri Butterworth on Monday 14th March 6-8pm

Fertility dolls were a part of ancient civilisations across the globe and are still widely used today, often bought into households or carried by the bearer to bring luck and fertility. They stem from fertility goddess figurines, she who has been known by many names Damara, Freyr, Aphrodite, Bhumi, Isis and Dilga to name just a few, these are all incarnations of the same life-force which celebrates and worships the mystery of creation.

Come and carve your own personal figurine using plaster and discuss what fertility means to you. All participants will start with the same cast bottle with a hole in and carve your own interpretation. Everyone welcome no experience needed.

Free workshop, all materials and hot drinks provided. Please email claireharbottle@gmail.com with ‘Fertility Doll Carving’ in the subject line to book a place.
